The Fashion Awards 2017 | Highlights
英国ファッション協会が2017年度 Fashion Awards (ファッション・アワード) の受賞者を12月4日、ロンドンのRoyal Albert Hall (ロイヤル・アルバート・ホール) で開催された授与式にて発表した。
今年、国際的に最も活躍したデザイナーに贈られる「Designer of the Year」に選ばれたのは、Calvin Klein (カルバン・クライン) のチーフ・クリエイティブ・オフィサーである Raf Simons (ラフ・シモンズ)。Raf Simons は、本年度の CFDA Fashion Awards (CFDA ファッション・アワード) でも「Designer of the Year」のウィメンズ、メンズ両部門を勝ち取っていた。また、Jonathan Anderson (ジョナサン・アンダーソン) は Loewe (ロエベ) のクリエイティブ・ディレクターとして「Accessories Designer of the Year」を、自身のブランドで「British Designer of the Year」ウィメンズ部門を見事受賞した。昨年に引き続き、「Business Leader」は、Gucci (グッチ) のプレジデント兼CEO、Marco Bizarre (マルコ・ビッザーリ) が選ばれている。
注目すべきは、国際的に高い評価を得ているハイストリートウェアブランドを選出する「Ueban Luxe Award」を受賞した Off-White (オフホワイト)。昨年は、Demna Gvasalia (デムナ・ヴァザリア) の Vetements (ヴェトモン) が受賞していた。IKEA (イケア) に始まり、Nike (ナイキ)、Jimmy Choo (ジミー チュウ) と名だたるブランドとのコラボで話題を博した Virgil Abloh (ヴァージル・アブロー) の Off-White が選ばれたことは当然の結果だと言えるだろう。
功労賞には、Burberry (バーバリー) のクリエイティブ・チーフ・オフィサーの退任を発表した Christopher Bailey (クリストファー・ベイリー) に贈られた。Swarovski (スワロフスキー) 協賛による特別賞には、Dior (ディオール) の アーティスティック・ディレクター Maria Grazia Chiuri (マリア・グラツィア・キウリ)。ファッション・アイコン賞は、Versace (ヴェルサーチ) のファッションディレクター Donatella Versace (ドナテラ・ヴェルサーチ) が受賞した。
